The Regional District is seeking an energetic, personable and qualified individual to take on the responsibilities of the Information Technology (IT) Coordinator, working out of the Dawson Creek office. 

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Coordinator is responsible for providing IT support and training to PRRD staff for all PRRD used programs, software, hardware and equipment. They are responsible for ensuring that effective and reliable backups are being performed, and that all hardware is seamlessly interconnected with servers and software. They maintain various inventories and IT documentation, and will participate in software/hardware reviews to provide recommendation to the IT Manager.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills and knowledge of Windows 10. They will have expertise with Microsoft Office 2016, Apple iOS and Android devices, SonicWALL firewalls, printers, Exchange mail servers, Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019. This position requires strong analysis, trouble shooting and problem solving skills, a strong understanding of IT tools and concepts and strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will need to be physical able to lift and manipulate server and desktop equipment.

The successful proponent will have a technical diploma or degree in computer technology, with 2+ years of experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with one hour for lunch.
The rate of pay for this union position is $36.21/hr, plus benefits.
