Olds College is seeking an analytical and customer focused team player who is responsible for responding to the business needs and furthering the documentation, testing and implementation of transformative enterprise application solutions.

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Systems Analyst is a permanent, full-time position primarily responsible for the operation, support and ongoing evolution of various enterprise applications, specifically, the Student Information System (Ellucian Banner).  

The key responsibilities of the Systems Analyst, Enterprise Application include:

  • Providing quality support for college Enterprise Applications
  • Working with outsourced service provider (Ellucian Managed Services), to maintain and continually upgrade our Student Information System.
  • Identifying, isolating, documenting and communicating technical issues for resolution.
  • Conducting rigorous testing to ensure acceptable quality of each delivered solution.
  • Assisting Student Services with Banner administration and configuration for optimal use.
  • Collaborating with other Post-Secondary Institutions and provincial consortium members in the ongoing development of provincial Student Information System integrations
  • Be able to extract and manipulate data from the Oracle database via SQL queries.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders, communicating clearly and effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess a Degree in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline supplemented with five or more years of related experience in systems analysis, database administration and applications support. Experience supporting a Post-Secondary SIS and especially Ellucian Banner Student would be considered assets.  Other combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will have a genuine commitment to service and the capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.
