Deloitte Canada is currently seeking Google Cloud Engineers at the Senior Consultant level to continually challenge and grow their own technical expertise and business skills, architect technical solutions, lead cloud migrations, and build DevOps pipelines. Our Google Cloud Engineers are provided the exciting opportunity to work with amazing clients and help drive the delivery of engagement deliverables. Some duties as a Senior Consultant involve:
- Participateing in customer-facing and internal projects, assisting or leading the technical engineering and operationalization of cloud solutions
- Articulating task management, priorities, and issues to clients on a regular basis
- Willingness and ability to travel in a post-Covid world

We are a specialized capability within our technology consulting practice in Canada, focused on the technical, organizational, and cultural elements that must be considered when helping our clients embrace the Cloud mindset. Our key clients span across various industries including financial services, energy and resources, consumer and retail business, digital-native, and public sector.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
As a senior consultant, you have a:
- GCP Professional level certification such as Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, Security Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
- Bachelors' or a Master's degree in a technical or engineering field
- 2 years of experience in public Cloud solutions (IaaS/ PaaS/ SaaS) building, supporting, or migrating applications in the cloud for mid or large size organizations
- At least 1 Associate/Expert level public cloud certification from a major vendor (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Deep understanding of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, SQL/NoSQL, containers, security, networking, and cloud-based delivery models
- Strong experience with scripting skills in Python, Perl, PowerShell, Shell or another common programming language
- Programming experience in one or more programming languages like Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript etc.
- Strong experience with new DevOps tools and Agile Development
- Experience in architecting, developing and/or maintaining production-grade systems, virtualization, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems and content delivery network.
- Hands-on experience on GCP, ideally with production workloads
Required Attributes
- Previous experience with one or more Infrastructure as Code tools such as Cloud Formation, Deployment Manager, Terraform, Ansible, Google Anthos
- Some experience with one or more Build Automation tools such as Jenkins, GCP Cloud Build, GitHub Actions etc.
- Experience in software systems design, with experience in architecting distributed systems and working with containers and at least one orchestration platform (EKS, GKE, AKS, OpenShift)
- Strong project management skills and customer facing support experience
