WebLAN Systems provides a broad range of small and medium businesses with ongoing IT support, sales, implementation and consulting throughout Calgary and the surrounding area. A Calgary fixture since 1994, WebLAN Systems is looking for a self-motivated, resourceful individual to join our team in a first-tier end-user support role.


Main Duties

  • Receive service requests from customers by various means and enter detailed information about the request into the ticketing system
  • Evaluate requests to determine the resources required to resolve them to the customers' satisfaction
  • Gather data and facts relevant to the timely resolution of client concerns
  • Analyze and resolve moderately complex technical issues where capable and escalate service requests to other team members where necessary
  • Provide a wide range of technical assistance to clients from a diverse set of backgrounds and technical expertise
  • Provide individual or group instruction as necessary
  • Play a supporting role in projects and service requests alongside more senior personnel

Job Requirements

  • A diploma, degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, industry certification will be considered an asset but not a must
  • Computer skills particularly with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office is a must whilst working knowledge of Mac OSX and GNU/Linux or BSD systems would be an asset
  • Critical thinking skills along with investigation, research skills and the ability to draw conclusions
  • Ability to keep strong notes and documentation as well as be able to work closely with others in a small team-focused environment
  • Able to lift 50lbs to waist height
  • Knowledge in English

Terms of Employment

  • Full time, permanent
  • 40 working hours / week
  • Base wage $32.00 / hour depends on experience
  • 2 weeks annual paid vacation
