Job summary
Own and scale the company’s IT infrastructure, including storage, workstations, render systems, networks, security, and backups. Support a distributed team and evaluate colocation, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure options for remote production workflows.
Job details
Dream Theory is a VFX company built around AI and emerging technology, bringing a new kind of production capability to film, television and advertising. We’re in the process of scaling rapidly, and we need someone to own the infrastructure that keeps our artists and engineers moving. This role is for someone who’s comfortable running the whole stack in a production environment where the demands aren’t typical IT. You’ll be managing high-performance storage, upkeeping our workstations and render farm, supporting a team spread across multiple cities, and making sure our network, security and backups hold up when deadlines are tight and file sizes are enormous. As we expand our team to meet growing demand, we’re looking for infrastructure options that will scale with us, and you’ll have a real voice in shaping that. We have a strong emphasis on remote workflows and are open to colocation, cloud and hybrid approaches, so we want someone who can weigh those options and help us build a system that works wherever our people are. Experience in VFX, animation or post-production is a big plus, as is familiarity with enterprise storage, render infrastructure, remote production tools, and supporting a mixed Mac, Windows and Linux environment. Knowledge of TPN (Trusted Partner Network) security standards and other studio content security requirements is especially valuable. More than any one checklist, though, we’re looking for someone who likes solving problems, stays calm under pressure, and is curious about where AI is taking this industry. This is a full-time position based in Toronto. If that sounds like you, please apply through the LinkedIn job posting.
