Job summary
Role- Java Backend Developer Location- Toronto/Waterloo ON (Hybrid/Remote) Contract Job Description Senior backend/integration developer providing technical leadership on Bank's Unified Advisor Experience supporting electronic tracking (eTrack) of an application/lifecycle and electronic documents (eDocs). The resource will design integration patterns and API contracts and build and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services that surface advisor-facing data, application/transaction lifecycle status (eTrack), and client statements/tax documents (eDocs) by integrating backend source systems (Salesforce, Alfresco) with the advisor portal front end. The resource will stand up advisor entitlements/access control from the ground up, lead the more complex integrations, and provide solution design, code review, and mentorship to intermediate developers. Work is delivered within an Agile squad in partnership with architects and delivery leads. Must-Have Skills Advanced RESTful API / microservices backend development in Java / Spring Boot (Maven-based, deployed to Azure/AKS), including secure API design Integration architecture-designing and building API contracts and integration patterns across enterprise source systems, including messaging/queue-based patterns (JMS/ActiveMQ) Entitlements and access control design-building authentication/authorization from the ground SQL and data mapping/transformation between source systems and front-end API (UI) contracts Senior-level hands-on delivery-builds complex integrations independently, sets technical patterns through code, and provides code review/mentorship while remaining a primary contributor Nice-to-Have Skills Integration with document management systems (Alfresco or comparable ECM-OnBase, Documentum, OpenText) Salesforce data integration exposure Financial services / banking domain experience
