Job summary
We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-impact Data & Analytics team supporting enterprise data platforms. This is a hands-on role for someone who can own end-to-end data initiatives, from design through deployment, and build scalable data solutions that drive business insights and decision-making. What We’re Looking For is hands-on practical knowledge with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake). In particular, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following: True senior-level autonomy – ability to independently own and lead complex data initiatives end-to-end with minimal oversight Deep, hands-on expertise across the full data lifecycle – including source systems, ingestion, transformation, data modeling, orchestration, and downstream consumption, with full accountability for production-ready solutions Strong system-level thinking – able to design scalable, reliable data architectures beyond just tools and frameworks Ownership mindset – takes responsibility for delivery, quality, and performance in production environments Experience working within Canadian business environments ( financial services / Asset Mgmt. Wealth Mgmt.) You will play a key role in building modern data pipelines, enabling analytics, and supporting data-driven products. What You’ll Do Own full lifecycle delivery: design, build, test, deploy Support data migrations to modern cloud platforms (Snowflake / AWS / Databricks) Partner with business stakeholders and data teams to gather and translate requirements into scalable solutions Design and implement robust data architectures and workflows Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple data sources Develop high-performance, scalable data pipelines for analytics and reporting Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data reliability and system stability Implement data governance, lineage, and observability best practices Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performing team environment Tech Stack / Requirements 6+ years in Data Engineering Strong experience with: SQL, Python, APIs, CDC pipelines Cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP Data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks,dbt, PySpark ETL tools: AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda Scheduling: Airflow, CRON, Step Functions Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB Storage: AWS S3, SFTP CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation What We’re Looking For Strong understanding of modern data architecture & pipeline design Experience building scalable, production-grade data systems Solid experience with data observability and lineage Proven ability to own projects end-to-end Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Nice to have: Experience in financial services / wealth / capital markets Experience with large-scale data migration projects Why Join High-impact role with end-to-end ownership Work on modern cloud data platforms Collaborative, growth-oriented environment Opportunity to shape data architecture and strategy Location 📍 Downtown Toronto (Hybrid -4 days onsite) Apply: [email protected] Compensation: 125k-130k CAD/Year Plus 12% Bonus Female Preferred
