Job details

Who we are CPOS is an Ottawa payments company. CPOS Pay is our app for the one-person business that runs everything from a phone: the plumber, the market vendor, the cleaner. Taking a payment is where it starts. We're turning the app into the back office they could never afford: one that gets them paid, answers their customers and brings in new ones. We're a small team. Nobody waits on three levels of approval. We build things, ship them, and fix them when they break. The role You'll join the product team behind CPOS Pay and build features across the whole stack, from the mobile app to the backend. Much of what we build touches money: taking payments, paying merchants out, and onboarding new businesses safely. You'll work with product, our developers and our customer success team, and your work goes straight to the merchants who depend on it. What you'll do ● Ship features for CPOS Pay across mobile, web and backend ● Build and maintain payment, payout and onboarding flows on Stripe ● Turn manual processes into tools that save the team time ● Write tested code, review your teammates' work and own what you ship in production What we need ● 1 to 4 years building production software (co-ops and internships count) ● Full-stack experience with TypeScript, React or React Native, and Node.js ● Experience building on Stripe or another payment processor's APIs ● You own the outcome and figure things out without waiting for a spec Nice to have ● Fraud, risk, trust and safety, or KYC/KYB experience ● AWS experience (Lambda, DynamoDB, Amplify) ● You've shipped a feature that uses large language models (LLMs) ● Startup experience Our stack TypeScript, React Native (Expo), React, Node.js, AWS (Amplify, Lambda, DynamoDB), Stripe, and AI coding tools every day. What you get ● Base salary: $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience ● Employee stock ownership (ESOP) ● Full health, dental, vision and life insurance ● Access to the AI tools we use every day ● Room to grow: you'll get as much ownership as you can take on ● Full-time, on site at our office in downtown Ottawa What happens next Apply, and if there's a fit we'll start with a short intro call, then a virtual technical interview with one of our developers. Next is a small take-home project. Then you'll come in to walk us through it and meet the team. We move fast, so you'll know where you stand quickly. This posting is for an existing vacancy. CPOS uses artificial intelligence-enabled tools to support parts of our recruitment process; all hiring decisions are made by our hiring team. Canadian work experience is not required. We provide accommodations on request throughout the hiring process: contact hr@cpos.com.
