Software Engineer – Node.js & REST APIs Position Type: Long Term Contract Work Model: Hybrid Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and REST API development to build, enhance, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of backend engineering, microservices, API security, and database integration. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. Build, integrate, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs. Implement asynchronous programming, error handling, and efficient backend processing. Develop and support microservices-based applications and system integrations. Implement API authentication, authorization, and security best practices. Perform API testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Integrate applications with SQL and NoSQL databases. Write clean, reusable, maintainable code and automated unit and integration tests. Use Git for version control and collaborate through code reviews. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs. Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and backend development. Knowledge of microservices architecture and API integration. Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization. Proficiency in API testing, debugging, and troubleshooting. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, and automated testing. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments. Understanding of secure software development practices and production support. Experience working in Agile development teams.

Requirements

Requires strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript or TypeScript, proven REST API development experience, and knowledge of asynchronous backend programming, microservices, API security, and integrations. Candidates should also have experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, Git, automated testing, and API troubleshooting; experience in regulated industries and Agile teams is preferred.
