Role Objective As the Guidewire Lead Developer, you will spearhead the design, core development, and architectural evolution of our Guidewire cloud and on-prem ecosystems. Focusing heavily on PolicyCenter and BillingCenter, you will act as the technical authority translating complex insurance underwriting, product modeling, invoicing, and collection requirements into scalable, high-performance digital workflows. II. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Solution Design: Drive hands-on solution design, configuration, and integration workstreams. Champion coding standards, performance optimization, and architectural blueprints across PolicyCenter and BillingCenter. Engineering Excellence & Mentorship: Guide, unblock, and mentor a team of Guidewire developers. Conduct rigorous code reviews, promote the use of enterprise design patterns, and run technical discovery sessions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA leads to refine user stories, establish technical estimation baselines, and eliminate defect leakage across sprint cycles. III. Required Qualifications Guidewire Domain Mastery: 8+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience developing within Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter. ACE Certification: Active Guidewire Associate or Professional Certification (ACE) in PolicyCenter or BillingCenter (Configuration or Integration tracking). Advanced Gosu or Java: Deep proficiency in Gosu programming, Guidewire studio configurations, wizard flows, data models, PCFs, and underlying Java framework structures. Integration Patterns: Proven experience building reusable, asynchronous, and synchronous service-oriented communication mechanisms via Web Services (REST/SOAP) and plugins. Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder-facing communication skills with a proven track record of leading technical workstreams or developer squads.
