Reporting to the Director of IT, the Senior Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible to help standardize our server/workstation setup by utilizing Infrastructure as Code concepts and methodologies. Demonstrating his technical leadership, the Senior Linux Systems Engineer will help contribute in building a DevOps and data driven culture. As a key role, the Senior Linux Systems Engineer will have direct influence in the direction and evolution of the IT park.


  • Establish monitoring and management practices to proactively provide necessary capacity and performance.
  • Install, Configure, Update, Support, and Troubleshoot services such as:

              - LAMP Stack: Linux (RedHat/CentOS), Apache, PostgresSQL, Ruby
              - OS level concerns
              - Database Servers (MySQL, PostgresSQL)
              - Applications Servers
              - Mail (Mail Transfer Agents)
              - Storage Technology: SAN, NAS, DAS, NetApp
              - Scripting: Perl, Shell, Bash, Python, etc.
              - Clustering
              - Load Balancing
              - FTP
              - SSH
              - DNS

  • Provide second-level support of network infrastructure and raise support calls with 3rd party vendors as required.
  • Develop procedural and technical documentation and custom performance / metrics reporting.
  • Performs necessary network infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices and Company change management policies.
  • Participate in 24/7 support of corporate network services for incident response/service restore activities.
  • On-call & occasional off-hours work may be a requirement of this role.


  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or equivalent technology degree
  • 5+ years' experience in a System Administration or equivalent role in a large infrastructure Linux environments with custom in-house applications
  • Strong knowledge of automation and configuration management applications with Chef, Salt or Puppet
  • Strong experience with Storage Technology such as SAN, NAS, DAS, Nexenta, etc.
  • Experience Architecting and Designing complex enterprise level infrastructures.
  • Advanced/Expert knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software, DNS, and networking fundamentals (Cisco) including diagnostics with Linux tools.
