If so, consider this great opportunity where you will make an impact and manage a program comprised of multiple concurrent Public Safety I&IT projects that support the implementation of the goals, visions and strategies for a modernized Ontario Public Safety Service at the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
Note: This competition may be used to fill upcoming temporary or permanent vacancies within the next 12 months upon the conclusion of this file.
What can I expect to do in this role?
•Develop detailed and integrated project plans from inception through technical planning to implementation
•Participate in business development by supporting business units in the preparation of TB20, briefing notes and results based planning (RBP), and strategic planning exercises
•Provide leadership to project teams, external service providers and contractors
•Develop and manage effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, team members and inter-disciplinary colleagues
•Participate in Enterprise and/or Cluster and ministry business improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for collaboration between businesses
•Participate in I&IT procurement to negotiate and acquire goods and services by providing expertise and/or administering contractual agreements
•Participate as a member of various committees to provide input to GMCB standards, policies, guidelines and procedures
How do I qualify?
Knowledge of and skills in:
•Enterprise, Cluster and other information technical policies, procedures and standards applied in the industry, to ensure consistency and compliance, and provide state of the art advice.
•Systems analysis, design, development, testing and implementation methods, tools and techniques; technology; data, technical; networking
•Application and/or technical architecture and design
•Project-relevant state of the art multi-platform I&IT technology; I&IT technology development, implementation, and operations management and security; and emerging technologies, in order to assess client needs, lead projects, and provide expertise
•I&IT development and solutions to create approaches and establish deliverables and performance metrics
Project Management and Business Process Modelling
Knowledge of and skills in:
•Project management, including planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting
•Project/services management to effectively manage multiple, strategic, complex and large-scale initiatives
•Business process modelling, including data modelling, and/or information resource management (data and information perspective)
•Business analysis, design and process re-engineering to lead analysis and systems solutions to client program's business requirements
Operational Planning and Procurement Skills
•You have experience and skills to implement and monitor operational project management policies and procedures including negotiating SLAs (service level agreements), vendor, contractor and consultant services management
Communications (oral and written), Relationship Management and Influence Skills
•You can prepare and present project reports, project plans, status reports and planning documents
•You can draft standardized project management processes to a variety of audiences
•You can establish effective working relationships among I&IT management, clients, and other project stakeholders, and with project staff
•You can advise and explain the risks and benefits of specific solutions, and recommend specific courses of action
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
•You can identify optimal I&IT approaches and solutions and provide submissions that will best facilitate senior level decision-making
•You can balance competing demands for project scope, time, cost, risk and quality
•You can identify I&IT technical, operational or other issues, conduct analyses, and determine optimal course of action to resolve them
•You can provide expertise and advice to clients on the use of information technology in business planning
Salary Range: $68,536 - $100,994 per year
